We recognize that no one changes the world alone – it takes a team. We thrive on seeking varied input, putting those ideas to the test, then discarding what doesn’t work while building on that which does. We believe this makes for a productive – and fun environment in which each person’s contribution matters.
THE JOURNEY
As often happens, an idea can come to an inventor because of a need in their personal life. In our case, Ashish Jagtiani, Ph.D., co-founder and CTO of Chronus Health, was working on highly specialized lab-on-chip devices when his sister was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. After learning she spent excessive amounts of her time in the hospital waiting for blood test results, Ashish was motivated to find a better solution. As Ashish shares, “My sister said to me, ‘If you can create such complex lab-on-chip devices for other tests, why hasn’t someone found a solution for simple, everyday blood panels?”
In response, Ashish teamed up with his long-time friend and fellow University of Akron bioengineering graduate, Anand Parikh. Anand had a decade of experience launching successful medical devices. Together they founded Chronus Health in 2018.
Since its formation, the company has been accepted into two highly respected incubators; IndieBio and Fogarty Innovation, both based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The company has closed its Series A financing in 2021.
